Francisco Mangado has numerous awards and special mentions to his credit. In addition to receiving the FAD award for Architecture in 2004 for the Pamplona Auditorium, he has also received, among others, the First Honorary Special Mention for first prize for Urban Development by MOPU (1987), and the Honorary Mention from the Jury in the "Andrea Palladio" International Architecture Awards (1991). Mangado has also received prestigious awards from abroad, such as the City of Thiene Architecture Award in 1993, the first prize from "Architecti" for ' Casa Català' together with a special mention for 'Mendillorri School' in Lisbon, also in 1993.
Some of his best-known works include the Carlos III Square in Olite, Navarre; the Square in the old city of Estella, the Golf Club of Zuasti, the Convention Centre and Auditorium of Navarre, the Convention and Exhibition Centre of Palenica, the Felipe II Square in Madrid and the Archaeological Museum of Vitoria.
Mangado's work is also recognised abroad. In Goa , India , he created a monastery, a church and an aid centre while in Japan he built the library of Kansai. In Europe his main works have been the Pey-Berland Square in Bordeaux , France and the complex which is made up of the square, cultural centre and church in Thiene , Italy .
